The company’s flagship products are its hip prostheses and their instrumentations. However, staying constantly attentive to our market, we are now expanding our product portfolio to include sports surgery, particularly knee and shoulder arthroscopy. Capitalizing on and Renewing Expertise
In 2000, the S.M.E (Medical Equipment Company) changed its name to become DEDIENNE SANTÉ, thus marking the beginning of the adventure for our company. However, its history traces back to 1986, when Gérard FONFREIDE founded S.M.E in Mauguio (34). The brand aimed to leverage the knowledge of the DEDIENNE Group in the field of plastics, in the more specific healthcare market. Led by Jean-Claude VOLOT, the group itself is the result of the expansion of the DEDIENNE workshop founded in 1947 in Clamart (92) by Mr. Roland DEDIENNE, a distinguished specialist in precision mechanics on plastic material.
From its inception, DEDIENNE SANTÉ has focused its activities on orthopaedic prostheses and has been involved in the development of innovative cardiovascular devices such as valve rings, which it designs and manufactures for international partners. The company owes its success to the key skills acquired in machining as well as its deep understanding of the French surgical landscape. Patrick RONDOT, by systematically building relationships with agents and distributors, prioritizes excellence in customer relations and innovation in commercial offerings. Thus, he provides the necessary commercial impetus to DEDIENNE SANTÉ and enables it to focus on its proprietary implant ranges.

Committing to a process of French manufacturing allows DEDIENNE SANTÉ to claim a specific, reliable, serious, and impeccable expertise: all its products, regardless of their destination, are marked ‘Made in France’. The manufacturing site is located in Mauguio, in the Occitanie region, renowned for its Medtech. It offers a complete technical platform ranging from the research and development laboratory to the ‘clean room’ comparable to a sterile chamber. Moreover, manufacturing in France fits perfectly into our CSR policy.
In 2016, DEDIENNE SANTÉ distinguished itself locally as a company focused on healthcare technologies, ensuring strong and rapid growth through its exemplary economic model. This recognition materialized with the prestigious French Tech label and the laureate of the Pass French Tech for the 2016-2017 promotion.
Subsequently, in 2021, the company was also awarded the French Fab label. French Fab embodies the companies, economic actors, institutions, and industrial sites located in France, who recognize themselves in the desire to develop the French industry.
In 2022, our commitment to quality and care in our products and services was underscored by the receipt of the French Care distinction.
